Creo que nos relacionamos con nosotrxs mismxs y con el mundo a través de lenguajes y de historias. Y la mayoría de las veces, las historias que nos contamos a nosotrxs mismxs y que el mundo (trabajo, familia, sociedad, etc.) nos cuenta, pueden tomar cierto control sobre nuestras vidas, identidad, miedos, sueños y esperanzas. Mi trabajo y especialidad consiste en escuchar y conversar con personas que están pasando por una situación o momento problemático.
En la Terapia Narrativa, “el problema es el problema; la persona nunca es el problema”. Al separarnos del problema podemos relacionarnos con él de diversas formas. Y al hacer visibles algunas de las estructuras de poder y relatos dominantes que están teniendo demasiada influencia en nuestra narrativa, podemos entonces analizar los efectos que esto está teniendo sobre nuestra identidad y nuestra vida.
Lo que buscamos en este espacio es narrarnos en términos propios: priorizando nuestros conocimientos y saberes. De este modo logramos explorar, encarnar y honrar nuestras identidades preferidas, procurando más autenticidad y armonía con lo que valoramos y es importante para nosotrxs.
Este trabajo en conjunto nos permite tener más sentido de agencia, y nos facilita crear nuevas posibilidades de movimiento.

I believe that we relate with ourselves and others through language and stories. And more often than not, the stories we tell ourselves and the stories our world (work, family, society, etc.) tells us, can take certain control over our lives, identity, fears, dreams and values. My work and specialty relies on listening and having conversations with people who are going through a problematic situation or time in their life.
In Narrative Therapy, “the problem is the problem; the person is never the problem”. By separating ourself from the problem and by making visible some of the power structures and dominant narratives that are having influence in our life, we can then explore different ways in which we can relate with what’s being problematic, and together analyze the effects that these narratives are having on our identity and everyday life.
What we aim for is to tell our story in our own terms: prioritizing our dreams, values, knowledge and wisdom. Thus, we can explore, work, embody and honor our preferred identities and stories, in order to have more authenticity and harmony with what we consider important to us. By doing so, this will allow us to have more agency over our life, and create new possibilities for movement.
